Welcome to the Guitar Page!
If you've got speakers you may have already heard the awful country music here on this page! Well tough that was the first thing that came into my head that was cheesy enough and easy enough to play in 10 seconds or so.
This page is going to be dedicated to my Electric guitar which I built for my A Level Design and Technology project. Below is a picture of the finished article:
It hasn't got a name but it plays like butter sliding off a hot knife. The dream machine of balance and sustain, the only things wrong with it are that it still needs to be earthed properly and a couple of frets need a bit of attention. Nothing serious, an oil stone and half hour of time will sort that little problem out. My only problem is that I have to wait until my A Level grades are published before I can carry out these slight alterations.
The neck is made from Maple and the fingerboard from Brazilian Rose wood which I bought from the Patric Eggle factory in Birmingham.
The body on the other hand has been made from a well seasoned piece of Beech which has been sitting in a wood pile for the last 15years. I have added a 20mm deep circular inlay of Oak to frame the bridge. All in all the wood gives the guitar a good sustained Telecaster sound with a look of a curvatious woman. This is one sexy guitar to play!
Varnish pure and simple! And before any of you smart arses out there complain at my choice of finish, remember I built this in my garden shed, or tried too. I used Ronseal quick drying varnish and guess what it did exactly what it said on the tin. I gave the guiat its high shine by working in bees wax with wire wool and a lot of hard graft. Its all paid off in the end and the finish gives the guitar a deep smooth shine.
Bees wax polish being applied to the guitar!
This is all that I have time to write from this evening, more will be added at a later date!
